Job description Subsea Engineer
Job Duties/ Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

  • Develop and manage the APDNL Regulatory Compliance Subsea installation for all onshore/offshore facilities to demonstrate responsible Asset Integrity Management to ease the renewal of APDNL Licence to Operate permits – ie, Pipelines; Flowllines; etc
  • Enhance APDNL reputation as partner of choice by engaging and accompanying the Nigerian Inspectorate on mandatory surveys of APDNL facilities to demonstrate responsible Asset Integrity Management in compliance with Nigerian Legislation and APDNL procedures
  • Sustain harmonious APDNL Asset Integrity Customer Focussed relationships with Stakeholders (ie. DPR; NCAA Inspectorates; Specialised 3rd party Vendors and APDNL Project and Production personnel) by engaging them in a timely manner to participate in Risk Based Inspection (RBI) Reviews
  • Establish, implement & maintain a five year Asset Integrity Compliance plan for each APDNL onshore and offshore facility and submit quarterly Asset Integrity KPI Compliance reports
  • Contribute to maximize Plant Uptime and eliminate unplanned product deferment by ensuring Subsea Infrastructure Performance Assurance tasks are carried out effectively to prevent Loss of Containment to ensure Pipeline/Flowlines/ESDVs will operate as intended when needed
  • Coach & mentor APDNL Nationals to adopt and embed a Lifecycle Asset Integrity Management mind-set ethos to “Fix Forever” rather than be forever Fixing in their normal work practice
  • Participate pro-actively with Project to Operations OR&A handover deliverables to “Get it Right 1st time and keep it that way” by coordinating APDNL Project baseline Asset Integrity Surveys.
  • Ensure availability of as built QA/QC Inspection documentation and associated drawings prior to handover acceptance – BoD; Pipeline route drawings & coordinates, P&Ids; C&E Loss Control; Isometrics; Plot Plans etc
  • Responsible for the development and management of APDNL Anomaly Action Tracker compliance register, MoC-Deviation database, Major Refurbishment program
  • Responsible for the development and management of the APDNL Pipelines repair database for all onshore & offshore facility oil and gas pipelines to prevent Hydrocarbon leaks and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) studies to prevent recurrence and recommend mitigation controls

Requirements Subsea Engineer

  • Degree in an Engineering Discipline or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years in the Oil and Gas industry, with at least 3 years in a QA/QC position
  • Sound knowledge of Oil & Gas Asset Integrity Subsea infrastructure installation criteria, Nigerian Legislation, International Standards & Work experience applying SCE Risk Reliability Management, Quality Assurance & Quality Control for mature & new Oil and Gas Project installations.
  • Proficient in MSWord/Excel/Power Point/Project
  • Good organisational, verbal and written communication skills
