Job Description
- Actively review and assist in planning business costs to ensure value for money and a lean cost base.
- Frequently analyse business performance in relation to budget, other SCB countries and competitors.
- Supporting Financial and Management Reporting in ensuring the completeness, validity & accuracy of the GL and reports emanating thereon.
- Supporting the Financial Controller with bank-wide General Ledger controls.
- Act as insurance officer for the country.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Cost Analysis and cost centre management

- Prepare Monthly Cost report and commentaries.
- Review / circulate Cost centre reports and attend to queries there from.
- Prepare Cost forecast and the PMC templates.

2 Insurance Matters
- Attend to all insurance operations matters affecting staff & the bank.
- Promptly process claims and follow up on settlement of obligations.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of insurance account with our insurance broker.

3 Competitive Analysis

- Undertake bank wide competitor analysis with selected banks.

4. Statutory returns
- Monthly remittance of staff NHF and pension contributions.

5. Daily GL Review
- Review the bank's daily Trial Balance, query unusual balances and escalate variances.
Qualifications & Skills
- B.Sc University degree (2:2 Minimum).
- Professional qualifications in Accounting and Finance e.g. ACCA, ACA plus a few years work experience in an Accounting department of a financial institution.
- Good Aptitude.
- Good Analytical skills.
- Knowledge of Sun Systems and general high level of computer literacy and understanding of business computing environment.
- Good communications and interpersonal skills.
- In compliance with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Act of 2004, all applicants should ensure that they have completed the mandatory NYSC programme. A discharge certificate will be required as evidence of completion of the programme. Where an exemption has been granted, a certificate of exemption will also be required.
