An independent investment research house seeks to immediately hire a Research Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to LEARN and GROW in a respected research firm for a bright recent grad with either financial internships during college or one-two years of relevant financial experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collect data from multiple sources, summarize notes
- Assist with reporting in Excel and updating multiple databases.
- Conduct research on the internet and document findings appropriately
- Handle requests from the Head of Research and an Analyst
- Liaise with companies to get information; compile information to be used in preparing commentary
- Special projects as necessary
- Provide support by performing market analysis and preparing a weekly market report
- Monitor company/sector news and events and perform other related duties as assigned
- Listen in and contribute to earnings release conference calls
- Actively seek out annual reports of companies as they become available and maintain archive.



Requirements:
- Minimum of a 4-year degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics or accounting
- Either financial internships during school or 1-2 years of relevant financial experience
- Some knowledge of finance
- Experience reviewing company financials
- Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills
- Very strong computer skills, especially on Excel
- Experience with putting together a presentation on Powerpoint

- Dexterity with numbers
-Enrollment in related professional exams will be looked on favorably.

- Smart, intelligence alone will not cut it.
- Exposure to the western world through education and/or experience is preferred.
