Topic: Investment Research Analyst Lagos (Experienced Hire)

We seek 1 - 2 Investment Research Analyst to join an existing research team due to business needs. Kindly note that this is an experienced research position.

Requirements: (This IS NOT an entry-level position)

- Must have at least TWO years of work experience in the Research Department of an investment bank, asset management or brokerage preferable having risen through the ranks

- MUST HAVE direct experience writing research reports on companies

- Stellar writing skills; writing samples will be required

- Knows that a career in equity research is what they seek and not still career curious

- Experienced in navigating through Excel

- Comfortable in use of powerpoint in putting together presentations

- Great spoken English and comfortable conversing with clients, brokers and potential clients over the phone and in person

- Zest for challenge and new experiences

- Passed at least the first level of CFA preferred though not a must

- MBA OR Masters in Finance highly preferred

- Foreign trained graduates are highly encouraged to apply

- Oversee research assistants and work together to complete research reports

Responsibilities inlude (but not limited to):

- Write research reports, equity comments and result commentaries on Nigerian companies from start to finish.

- Analyze annual reports and record observations for future use

- Listening in on conference calls and asking insightful questions

- Establishing relationships with companies under coverage

- Put together a detailed monthly stock market report

- Compilation of company data table and forecasts for two years

- Send out breaking news to clients on companies covered as and when necessary

- Meet with management to discuss company affairs on a regular basis and be comfortable asking tough questions

- Compile, analyze data and prepare reports on the mutual funds, pension funds and fixed income industry

- Price disocvery (fair valuation of companies)

- Business Development: Analysts must be comfortable reaching out to corporates and retail to grow our client base. Success of the company should be paramount in the mind of selected analysts.
