Responsibilities:
Supports Head Finance in the coordination of annual Budget and consolidation of budget estimates for each Unit/Department for presentation to Management
Prepares income statements, monthly closing accounting reports and journals , including depreciation, prepayments, provisions and accruals
of the business such as budgets, tax and cash flows that provides information on the Organisational’s financial position to the Head Finance & Accounts
Compiles and analyses the Financial Reports generated by Accounts Officers in each Business Unit, consolidates and forwards to the Head Finance and ensures departmental compliance with the Organisation's financial policies, procedures and standards
Develops and maintains appropriate tax structures in compliance with statutory regulations and liaise with the Accounts Officer for prompt and accurate remittance of tax and other statutory staff related payments.
Manages accounting applications and filing systems and resolves any accounting entry discrepancies.
Monitors the fixed asset ledgers to ensure accuracy of balances by effectively reconciling book balance to physical balance
Reconciles all ledgers for the preparation of year end trial balances and financial reports
Provides relevant support to internal and external auditors during audit reviews for smooth audit procedures
Liaises with relevant external bodies/contacts e.g. solicitors, bankers as directed by the Head, Finance & Accounts, for effective operation of the finance function.
Oversees the deduction and remitting of deductibles e.g. Pension Funds, PAYE
Computation and remittance of tax liabilities to the appropriate regulatory bodies
Coordinates the statutory reporting process and preparation of the Group annual returns
Approves accruals and adjustments on erroneously posted financial transactions into the financial system
Responds to relevant requests from financial institutions

Requirements:
Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience
Minimum of a first degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related discipline
Relevant professional certifications e.g. Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or its equivalent
Experience of statutory financial reporting and knowledge of GAAP, IFRS
Desirable:
MBA or Master's degree in a related discipline
