Experienced Sales Manager with a publishing firm needed
A reputable publishing firm is seeking to recruit an experienced sales manager whose Purpose is to devise and manage sales strategies; to manage sales representatives to attain sales targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Devising and implementing appropriate and creative sales strategies
• Setting periodic sales targets and reporting on attainment to management
• Managing in-house sales representatives to open maintain and service all sales channels, including bookshops and schools
• Allocating territories to sales representatives and managing their weekly itinerary and reporting of activities, including their data capture
• Soliciting and managing distributors and retailers nationwide
• Managing sales outlets and liaising with customers as necessary
• Soliciting and managing freelance sales representatives as necessary
• Liaising with sales and other consultants, as applicable
• Building database of clients, sales channels, corporate and other clients
• Maintaining detailed knowledge of the inventory, including prices and stock balances
• Other related tasks as necessary

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Sales, negotiation and persuasion skills
• Good understanding of the Nigerian market, particularly bookselling
• Management, motivational and leadership skills
• Ability to own and execute ideas
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Creative thinker; initiative
• Organizational and multitasking skills
• Advanced computer literacy

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Undergraduate degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
• At least 5 years’ work experience of direct sales, preferably in the publishing industry

REMUNERATION: Negotiable
