    Job title: Brand Publicity & Communications Manager


    Directly Reports to: Managing Director

    Position summary:

    The manager is to work with members of his team in formulating innovative advertising plans that will lead to acquiring new and ideal customers for the company’s products and services.

    Key duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • To create daily, weekly and annual innovative advertising plans.
    • To develop new products and services.
    • To regularly identify growing trends and new opportunities to be exploited.
    • To conduct weekly meetings with team members on objectives to be achieved.
    • To set clear daily, weekly and monthly departmental objectives for every team member.
    • To assign duties to each departmental employee.
    • To provide information for company’s monthly newsletter.
    • To continually review, conduct and act on competitor analysis.
    • To ensure promotional literatures are distributed to target market.
    • To develop and determine new competitive advantages for company’s products and services.
    • To ensure that all team members are aware of marketing and communication objectives.
    • To take active role in the recruitment and selection of new team members.
    • To approve the recruitment of new team members.
    • To organize new product and or service launch events.
    • To develop advertising and promotions formats
    • To attend to all media enquires when required.
    • To determine, develop and implement new ways of carrying out advertising activities.
    • To organize regular customer feedback survey every.
    • To determine advert placement schedule.
    • To oversee the development of customer questionnaire.
    • To ensure that all set advertising goals are achieved.
    • To place order for advert slots at target media outfits.
    • To approve events and program sponsorship packages.
    • To be in charge of the day to day running of the department.
    • To approve all forms advertising and publicity campaigns.
    • To develop marketing budget in conjunction with team members.
    • To regularly determine ways of improving company’s marketing mix.
    • To oversee production of Radio and TV adverts.
    • To negotiation adverts design fees with concerned production company.
    • To ensure consistency in company’s brand positioning.
    • To recommend the removal of any departmental employee.
    • To recommend the promotion of any departmental employee.
    • To recommend the demotion of any departmental employee.
    • To develop and organize promotional incentives and initiatives for customers.
    • To build and maintain contact database of target media personnel.
    • To represent the company at public events/functions when required by the Management.
    • To supply target media personnel with up to date product information.
    • To perform any other task required by the management.

    Key skill and competency requirements:
    • A Bachelors Degree in Advertising/Marketing or a related course.
    • Masters Degree in Advertising/Marketing and/or a MBA would be an advantage.
    • Previous managerial position required.
    • Proven Advertising experience required – minimum of four years
    • Ability to influence others positively
    • Customer focused
    • Able to use own initiative when appropriate
    • High standard of personal presentation
    • Ability to use Office packages particularly Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
    • Highly Organized
    • Excellent communications Skills with a strong command of English Language.
    • Ability to influence others positively.
    • Membership of related professional associations would be an advantage

    Reports to: Brand Publicity & Communications Manager

    Position summary:

    The Assistant manager is to work with the manager in executing daily departmental duties

    Key duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • To regularly prepare competitor analyses.
    • To develop new products and services every quarter.
    • To regularly identify growing trends and new opportunities to be exploited.
    • To constantly develop and determine new USP for company’s products and services.
    • To oversee the distribution of promotional literature to target market.
    • To be actively involved in the organization of new product and or service launch events.
    • To be actively involved in the development of advertising and promotional campaign format.
    • To be actively involved in the development, review and organization of promotional incentives and initiatives for customers.
    • To attend to media enquires when assigned by the manager to do so.
    • Take active role in the recruitment and selection of new team members
    • To assist in the creation of daily, weekly and annual advertising plans.
    • To determine, develop and implement new ways of carrying out advertising activities.
    • To be actively involved in the development of customer questionnaire.
    • To participate in customer feedback survey when required.

    Key skill and competency requirements:
    • A Bachelors Degree in Advertising/Marketing or a related course
    • Masters Degree in Advertising/Marketing and/or a MBA would be an advantage
    • Having held previous managerial position
    • Proven Advertising/Marketing experience (Journalist background or experience would be an advantage)
    • Ability to influence others positively
    • Customer focused
    • Able to use own initiative when appropriate
    • High standard of personal presentation
    • Ability to use Office packages particularly Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
    • Highly Organized
    • Good communication skills with a strong command of English Language.
